Eduk-Aksyon: Constructing a Canopy and Bulletin Board to Empower Langkaan Elementary

As the new academic year begins, the OPEC Kalayaan team has generously gifted the students and teachers of Langkaan Elementary School in Dasmariñas, Cavite, with a transformative initiative. On July 31, 2024, the Eduk-Aksyon Season 2 project was marked by the turnover of a brand-new canopy and bulletin board for the school.
The initial discussions between the school administration and OPEC Kalayaan revealed several critical infrastructural needs, including essential repairs to the school buildings. Recognizing the importance of a well-maintained bulletin hub, the OPEC Kalayaan team decided to take on the task of fixing the damaged bulletin board.
A well-designed bulletin board serves as the focal point for sharing all school updates, news, and announcements – a vital element in fostering communication and community engagement. The newly installed canopy in the bulletin board area will provide much-needed shelter from rain and harsh sunlight, creating a more inviting and accessible space for the school community.
The turnover ceremony was led by the school's master teacher, Edwina David, along with several selected teachers. OPEC Kalayaan President Ruel P. Lungcay and Area Manager Rex Ordo shared heartfelt messages during the event, underscoring their commitment to supporting the educational endeavors of Langkaan Elementary. A highlight of the ceremony was the ribbon-cutting, followed by the distribution of school supplies to selected students – a gesture that reinforces M.Lhuillier's holistic approach to empowering the school community.
It's worth noting that this is not the first time OPEC Kalayaan has lent its support to local schools. In the previous Eduk-Aksyon Season 1, the team had renovated the school canteen at Bucal 1 Elementary School in Maragondon, Cavite. This ongoing commitment to educational development clearly demonstrates M.Lhuillier's steadfast dedication to its mission of assisting those in need and making a lasting impact on the communities it serves.
