Brigada Eskwela 2025 Highlights Literacy in ZamBas Region
Schools throughout Zamboanga and Basilan actively took part in Brigada Eskwela 2025, the Department of Education’s nationwide initiative aimed at preparing schools for the upcoming academic year. This year’s campaign, anchored on the theme “Sama-sama para sa Bayang Bumabasa” (Together for a Nation that Reads), highlighted not only physical school maintenance but also the vital role of literacy in nation-building.
The week-long activity mobilized a broad coalition of stakeholders—including teachers, parents, students, local government units, private sector partners, and community volunteers—to create safe, clean, and literacy-enriched learning environments.
Going beyond traditional cleanup and beautification efforts, this year’s Brigada Eskwela emphasized the collective responsibility of communities in nurturing a culture of reading and literacy development among learners.
In full support of the campaign, the OPEC ZamBas Vinta Officers participated in the beautification and preparation of 12 schools, demonstrating their commitment to both education and community development.
