Bright Future, Better Classroom

As public schools continue to face challenges in maintaining safe and conducive learning environments—particularly amid unpredictable weather conditions—M Lhuillier, through its charitable arm ML Cares Foundation and the OPEC Kalayaan team, has completed and officially turned over its latest school improvement initiative, “Bright Future, Better Classroom,” to San Nicolas III Senior High School (SHS).

The project includes the construction of a waiting shed and stair roofing for the school’s ICT building—essential facilities that address the urgent need for safer and more comfortable walkways for both students and teachers. These upgrades are designed to ensure uninterrupted access to classrooms while reducing exposure to heavy rain and extreme heat.

This initiative directly supports the growing student population of San Nicolas III SHS by enhancing the functionality of its ICT building—a key academic facility. It also aligns with M Lhuillier’s ongoing commitment to improve public school infrastructure, helping create better day-to-day learning conditions across the country.

School Principal Ronald R. Drio expressed gratitude for the timely support, stating:

“This project responds to a real and urgent need on our campus. We thank M Lhuillier for helping us improve our facilities and create a better learning environment for our students.”

Representing M Lhuillier, Area Manager Adonis Ballo-Allo emphasized the company’s dedication to meaningful, community-driven projects:

“Part of our responsibility is to help address practical needs in schools and local communities. By supporting infrastructure improvements, we hope to make a positive impact on the daily experiences of students and teachers.”

In addition to the infrastructure improvements, the school also received various donation items, including backpacks, bags, towels, cellphone cases, and T-shirts, offering added support to both students and faculty.

To honor the contribution, San Nicolas III SHS presented M Lhuillier–OPEC Kalayaan with a Certificate of Appreciation, recognizing the company’s role in strengthening educational facilities in the community.

The “Bright Future, Better Classroom” project is part of M Lhuillier’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts, which span education, disaster relief, livelihood development, and more. These initiatives complement its core services in pawnshop, remittance, insurance, and lending—continuing the company’s mission of supporting the daily needs of Filipino families.
