Building Comfort, Inspiring Inclusion: PWD Restroom Turnover
Building Comfort, Inspiring Inclusion: PWD Restroom Turnover
December 12, 2025
Sometimes, the smallest doors can open up the biggest opportunities. For the students and staff of Eugenio J. Hobilla Memorial Elementary School, the newly constructed PWD restroom — along with other thoughtful donations — was more than just a facility. It was a message: you are seen, you are valued, and you belong.
Thanks to the unwavering support of the ML Cares Foundation and OPEC Dagyang Panay South, what began as a humble project proposal by Head Teacher III Lorna B. Navarro became a reality. Her reaction — a mix of amazement and joy — speaks volumes about the power of dreams backed by compassion.
The school community came together for a special turnover that included not just the restroom, but also a desktop computer set, printer, school supplies, giveaways, and a lighted school signage — all thoughtfully provided to uplift the learning environment. Beyond the material gifts, what truly stood out was the sense of inclusion and dignity they brought, especially for learners with disabilities.
The day wasn’t just about donations. It was about connection and care. The Iloilo Police Provincial Office conducted a meaningful Safety Awareness Symposium, empowering students and teachers with practical knowledge on crime prevention and community responsibility.
To close the day, a tree planting activity reminded everyone that just like trees, acts of kindness grow over time — leaving lasting roots in the hearts of those they touch.
As Ma’am Lorna beautifully put it, “Kindness and generosity are the heart’s ways of leaving a mark that no time can erase.” The M Lhuillier name etched on the new restroom now stands not just as a symbol of support, but of hope, inclusivity, and a partnership that goes far beyond infrastructure.
