Dugo Ko, Karugtong ng Buhay Mo
Dugo Ko, Karugtong ng Buhay Mo

Under the warmth of a bright, sunlit day, people from different walks of life gathered with one shared purpose: to give life. What began as a simple bloodletting activity soon unfolded into a powerful story of compassion, unity, and hope. In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Lucena Chapter, the “Dugo Ko, Karugtong ng Buhay Mo” v4.0 became more than an event; it became a living testament to the impact of selfless giving.
From the moment donors arrived, there was a quiet sense of determination in the air. One by one, they offered a part of themselves, knowing that every bag of blood collected carried the possibility of saving a life. By the end of the day, hundreds of blood bags had been collected, each one a silent promise of another chance, another tomorrow, and renewed hope for patients in need.
Beyond the act of donation, the activity was filled with small but meaningful gestures of gratitude. Donors were welcomed with food, drinks, and warm care, simple tokens that reflected heartfelt appreciation. These gestures were not meant to repay what was given, but to honor the generosity of individuals who expected nothing in return except the knowledge that they had helped someone survive.
The program also served as an opportunity to engage and educate the community. While the bloodletting was ongoing, participants were introduced to various products and services designed to support Filipino families, ranging from QCL offerings such as jewelry, home, and car loans with competitive interest rates, to insurance plans for children and learners, as well as the presentation of Dengue Rx and other helpful services. It was a meaningful way to extend support beyond the event itself, addressing both the community's immediate and long-term needs.
The success of the activity was made possible through the collective efforts of dedicated leaders and volunteers. The presence of our ever-active Regional Manager, Ricardo P. Rioflorido, alongside area managers, the Regional Audit Manager, the OPEC Officer, and committed SEL employees, underscored the shared commitment to service. Their time, leadership, and teamwork ensured that the activity ran smoothly and achieved its purpose.
In the end, “Dugo Ko, Karugtong ng Buhay Mo” was not just about blood donation. It was about compassion in action, about communities coming together, and about proving that even the simplest act of giving blood can turn ordinary people into someone else’s miracle.
