M Lhuillier, a trusted name in financial services, continues to uplift Filipino lives through its ML PadyaKabuhayan Project, a livelihood initiative that donates pedicabs to individuals from underserved communities. More than just vehicles, these pedicabs represent renewed hope, independence, and the promise of a better future.
Through the steadfast efforts of MLhuillier’s representative, OPEC Magayon, the ML PadyaKabuhayan Project was formally launched in Aroroy, Masbate. During the event, three carefully selected beneficiaries were awarded their own pedicabs, chosen based on their perseverance and demonstrated need, underscoring the profound impact that determination, when supported by meaningful assistance, can have in transforming lives.
Among them is Charles Tan Lawson Jr., a 60-year-old former construction worker still striving to support his family. Emer P. Alvarado, once bound by a rental system as a padyak driver, now enjoys the freedom of being his own operator. And Julius Roxas, a barangay tanod and balut vendor, can now earn more while continuing to serve his community.
These pedicabs do more than provide income—they bring dignity. Along with the pedicabs, M Lhuillier also gave Certificates of Acceptance and Family Protect Plus insurance, ensuring both livelihood and security for the beneficiaries and their families.
For the community, the impact is twofold: improved transportation for residents and sustainable income for the drivers. As these pedicabs roll through Aroroy’s streets, they carry not just passengers, but dreams and determination.
This project is part of M Lhuillier’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts that span education, healthcare, disaster response, and community development. It’s a testament to how business and bayanihan can work hand in hand to build a brighter future.
With every turn of the wheel, the ML PADYAKabuhayan Project moves lives forward—proving that even the simplest tools, when given with heart, can lead to true transformation.
