One Health, One Mission
One Health, One Mission
June 4, 2026
We once again witnessed how compassion and service came together last May 9, 2026, as M Lhuillier, through the ML CARES Foundation OPEC Kulintang, partnered with the Venerable Knight Veterinarians Fraternity and Venerable Lady Veterinarians Sorority to hold a meaningful Veterinary Mission at the Kabacan Municipal Gym in Kabacan, North Cotabato. From the early hours of the day, fur parents and their pets arrived with hopeful smiles, ready to be part of an initiative rooted in care, responsibility, and community well-being.
The activity was centered on the One Health initiative, which reminds us that the health of animals, humans, and the environment is deeply connected. Seeing pet owners line up patiently with their dogs and cats made it clear how important this mission was, not just for pets, but for the entire community. The event created a welcoming space where learning, service, and genuine concern for animal welfare came together.
Throughout the day, free veterinary services were provided, including spay and neuter procedures, anti-rabies vaccinations, and deworming treatments. These services helped address immediate health needs while also preventing future illnesses. Beyond medical care, an awareness symposium on animal health and responsible pet ownership was conducted, giving fur parents practical knowledge they could bring home and apply every day.
What made the experience even more heartwarming was the gratitude shared between organizers and participants. M Lhuillier distributed simple yet thoughtful giveaways to participating fur parents. These tokens were small gestures, but they reflected appreciation for the community’s trust and active participation in promoting animal welfare.
The success of the mission would not have been possible without the strong support of the Local Government Unit of Kabacan, which generously accommodated the activity at the Municipal Gym and continues to champion programs that protect both public health and animal welfare. Their support showed how local collaboration plays a vital role in bringing meaningful services closer to the people.
ML CARES Foundation OPEC Kulintang wants to acknowledge the many partners who helped make this mission a reality, including SAVER, USM-CVM, PVMA SMC, the Municipal Agriculturist Office led by Dr. Louise Faith B. Mosquera, Pilmico through Tommy, Woofy, and Maxime, NutriChunks, and Majesty. Equally deserving of recognition are the dedicated student volunteers whose time, energy, and commitment ensured the smooth flow of the entire event.
Most importantly, heartfelt thanks go to the veterinarians who selflessly shared their expertise and services: Dr. Ceasar Ian P. Piamonte, Dr. Rhea Joyce Z. Tanghal, Dr. Eric John A. Perono, Dr. Dazelle A. Cañete, Dr. Kent Mirafuentes, Dr. Liza Mae A. Rapisura, Dr. Moriel De Los Santos, Dr. Vrenelie II Decal-Flores, and Dr. Xavior D. Rodriguez. Through initiatives like this Veterinary Mission, M Lhuillier and its partners continue to show that compassion, collaboration, and service can create a lasting impact, one healthy pet, one informed fur parent, and one caring community at a time.
