Project Upuan: Small Build, Big Impact
April 17, 2026
Project Upuan, a community development initiative led by MLhuillier through OPEC La Lagoon, was completed and formally turned over on March 23, 2026, at Liliw Central School in Liliw.
The project focused on the construction of new school bleachers in the school’s covered court, an essential facility where students, teachers, parents, and community members regularly gather for academic programs, sports activities, and school celebrations. With the completion of the bleachers, the covered court now offers a safer, more organized, and more comfortable seating area, significantly improving the overall experience during school events.
The turnover ceremony was attended by officers and members of OPEC La Lagoon, together with the school principal, faculty members, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) representatives, and students. The school community warmly welcomed the project, expressing sincere gratitude for the support extended to the school. During the program, school officials highlighted how the new bleachers will help ensure student safety, promote better crowd management, and enhance participation during school activities.
Project UPUAN reflects MLhuillier’s continuing commitment to nation-building through education-centered initiatives. By working closely with OPEC La Lagoon and local school communities, the company helps address practical needs that contribute to a more conducive learning environment. Beyond infrastructure improvement, the project symbolizes collaboration, shared responsibility, and a long-term investment in the well-being of students.
Through initiatives like Project UPUAN, MLhuillier, and OPEC La Lagoon reaffirm their dedication to empowering communities, one school, one project, and one meaningful partnership at a time.
