Standing With Communities: Clean Water for Barangay Catmon
Standing With Communities: Clean Water for Barangay Catmon
March 24, 2026
In response to the widespread impact of Typhoon Tino, M Lhuillier Financial Services extended timely assistance to communities affected by the disaster, focusing on one of the most urgent needs: access to clean and safe water.
Among the areas significantly impacted was Barangay Catmon, where flooding and damage to local water sources disrupted the community’s water supply. With limited access to potable water, residents faced daily challenges that affected their health, sanitation, and overall well-being.
To help address this concern, M Lhuillier Financial Services, through Opec Leyte Movers and in cooperation with ML Sako, donated a 10,000-liter water storage tank for the barangay’s communal use. The water tank will provide a reliable system for collecting and storing clean water, helping ensure that families have continued access to this essential resource as the community recovers.
The formal turnover of the water tank was held on February 18, 2026, led by M Lhuillier Opec officers, headed by Regional Manager Miss Grace L. de Gracia. The simple yet meaningful activity was attended by barangay officials and residents, who expressed their gratitude for the support extended during a critical time.
Barangay officials shared that the donation would greatly benefit the community, especially as residents work toward rebuilding their lives following the typhoon. The water tank is expected to play an important role in meeting daily household needs while long-term recovery efforts are ongoing.
This initiative reflects M Lhuillier’s continued commitment to community support and responsible corporate citizenship. By responding to immediate needs with practical solutions, the company helps strengthen community resilience and promote public health and safety.
As Barangay Catmon moves forward on its path to recovery, this effort serves as a reminder of the power of collaboration and the enduring Filipino spirit of bayanihan, where communities and organizations come together to help one another in times of need.
