Strides Toward Livelihood with ML Cares Foundation

Through its flagship livelihood program, Tulay sa Pangkabuhayan, the Foundation empowers Filipinos by equipping them with practical, income-generating skills that open doors to self-sufficiency and financial stability.

Launched in the heart of the holiday season, a time for giving and a new beginning, the event was held at Fuente Osmeña Circle, Cebu City, and brought together enthusiastic participants from all walks of life, united by a common goal: to learn, grow, and build a better future. The program offered hands-on training in foot spa, haircutting (gupit), and basic hairdressing, high-demand services that can easily be turned into home-based enterprises or freelance careers with minimal capital.

A highlight of the event was the presence and active participation of Michael L. Lhuillier, President and CEO of M Lhuillier Financial Services, along with his family, who demonstrated their unwavering support for the Foundation’s mission. Their presence underscored the company’s deep-rooted commitment to community development and inclusive growth.

The initiative is strategically designed to empower vulnerable sectors, especially women, unemployed individuals, and out-of-school youth, by providing them with marketable skills they can immediately leverage to earn a living. With the Philippines still recovering from economic disruptions, the program offers a timely and sustainable pathway to livelihood for many families.
