Give Blood, Save a Life

There is no greater satisfaction than saving someone's life. There are numerous ways to help others, and one of which is by donating blood units. Blood is a human source of life, and those who give, are being recognized as heroes of the family they helped. Blood donors not only provide a vital service to the community, they also make a difference in the lives of others.

M Lhuillier, considering blood donation as a campaign to ensure a sufficient supply of blood when medical emergencies come, conducted bloodletting drives in various regions of the country through the initiatives of its OPEC groups.

In Brgy. Indangan, Makilala, North Cotabato, OPEC Kulintang officers have gathered fifty (50) volunteered blood donors who are very enthusiastic about helping save a life. OPEC Capital, in cooperation with the Philippine Red Cross, has held the Annual Blood Letting Activity called "Dugo mo, Buhay Ko" at Divisoria, NCR Region. The project aims to encourage employees to donate blood  in order to help the Red Cross Institution meet the growing blood needs of hospitals and health centers, especially during this period of the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of thirty-eight (38) bags of blood were extracted from the employees of M Lhuillier and were donated to the Philippine Red Cross at the conclusion of the event.

OPEC La Lagoon also collaborated with the LGU and the Philippine Red Cross in Laguna to collect a total of seventy-eight (78) bags during the activity. OPEC Negros Jewellers, in partnership with the RHU of the Municipality of Pontevedra, together with the Negros First Provincial Blood Center, conducted a bloodletting activity with the theme "All We Need is Blood" at Brgy. San Juan, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental. They gathered thirty (30) bags of blood and distributed some tokens to donors during the drive.

OPEC Lakan, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, also organized a bloodletting activity in the Bulacan Region as part of the project "Dugtong Buhay para sa PaMLyang Pilipino," with the goal of replenishing and increasing the blood stored in PRC blood banks for future blood donation recipients.

M Lhuillier employees and officers of OPEC teams voluntarily expressed their willingness and gratitude to continue participating in the activity conducted in Cebu. The activity was led by the Red Cross Cebu Chapter with the support of the ML Cares Foundation together with the cooperation of Opec Support, Opec Norte, Opec Lakbai Norte, Opec Sawot, Opec Centrum Cebu, and Opec Central.

In these times of need, M Lhuillier believes that even the smallest act can have significant impact. It's just a blood donation for you, but it's a life extension for others.
