Bayas Estancia, Iloilo, was the destination for a meaningful outreach on August 9, 2024. The journey to this remote location, which involved a 1.5-hour land trip followed by a 20-minute boat ride, was undertaken with a sense of purpose and faith. The team was blessed with favorable weather, dispelling any fears of rough seas. 

OPEC Panay Hugyaw, led by team officers, conducted a CPR and Basic First Aid Training for the barangay health workers, tanod, and officials of Brgy. Bayas. 

The training aimed to equip participants with essential life-saving skills, enabling them to respond effectively to emergencies within their community. Given the geographical challenges of the island, where access to advanced medical care often involves boat travel to the nearest city, first aid knowledge is crucial. The ability to provide immediate care can be the difference between life and death. 

The program also introduced participants to M Lhuillier’s services and products. The team distributed ML-branded t-shirts, snacks, and medical kits containing vital supplies such as bandages, alcohol, cotton, a pulse oximeter, hydrogen peroxide, and medicines. Selected participants had the opportunity to practice the first aid techniques, gaining hands-on experience in responding to urgent situations.
