M Lhuillier Empowers Ilocandia Weavers Through Livelihood
August 13, 2026
M Lhuillier supports Ilocandia weavers through the Weave of Hope project, providing materials that promote traditional crafts and sustainable livelihoods.
On July 20, 2026, M Lhuillier, through OPEC Ilocandia, formally turned over the “Weave of Hope: Donation of Bamboo and Weaving Materials” project to the Daligan Indigenous Weavers Association (DIWA) in Daligan, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur. The initiative is part of M Lhuillier’s continuing efforts to support local communities by providing resources that can help strengthen traditional skills and create opportunities for sustainable livelihood. Through this project, DIWA members received essential materials that can support their weaving activities and contribute to the continued preservation of their indigenous craft.
As part of the donation, M Lhuillier provided bamboo weaving materials, beads, and plastic straps that DIWA members can use in creating quality handcrafted products. These materials are essential to their weaving process, allowing local artisans to further develop their skills while producing items that reflect their creativity, culture, and craftsmanship. More than simply providing supplies, the initiative seeks to help equip the members of DIWA with resources that can support their livelihood and encourage them to continue practicing and developing their traditional weaving techniques.
The “Weave of Hope” project also highlights the important role of sustainable livelihood initiatives in empowering communities. By supporting indigenous weavers with materials needed for their craft, M Lhuillier helps create opportunities for DIWA members to enhance their products and potentially generate additional income from their skills. The project likewise contributes to the preservation of traditional weaving practices, ensuring that valuable knowledge and craftsmanship remain part of the community while providing members with practical means to build more sustainable sources of livelihood.
Through initiatives such as “Weave of Hope,” M Lhuillier continues to demonstrate its commitment to uplifting Filipino communities through meaningful and sustainable programs. The donation to the Daligan Indigenous Weavers Association reflects the company’s belief that community development goes beyond immediate assistance, it also means providing people with opportunities to build on their skills, preserve their heritage, and work toward a more sustainable future. Through OPEC Ilocandia and its community-focused efforts, M Lhuillier remains committed to being a partner in empowering Filipinos and strengthening local communities. Because M Lhuillier is indeed “Tulay ng PaMLyang Pilipino.”
