M Lhuillier Proudly Joins the Tagkawayanin Community in Celebrating the Kaway Festival

MAY 24, 2024

Kaway Festival is a week-long celebration that usually starts on February 1 and ends on February 11, culminating in the Town Fiesta. This annual event is held to honor and preserve the rich traditions, history, and culture of the Tagkawayanin people. The centerpiece of the festival is the Sayawayan Festival, a captivating cultural street dance that pays homage to the iconic hand signal traditions and vibrant costumes of the Tagkawayanin community. Participants in the Sayawayan Festival engage in a rhythmic display of dance, music, and ritualistic movements, transporting spectators to the heart of Tagkawayanin heritage.

This year, M Lhuillier’s OPEC MARIZON, proudly joined the Kaway Festival in Tagkawayan, Quezon. The M Lhuillier team marched in the festival parade, adorned with eye-catching tarpaulins and banners, showcasing their commitment to the local community and their desire to inform the hundreds of tourists about the company's diverse range of services and products.

Despite the heat of the sun, the warmth and enthusiasm of the people of Tagkawayan created an electrifying atmosphere that enveloped the festival. For M Lhuillier, being a part of this unique and vibrant celebration was a true honor and privilege, as it aligns with the company's ethos of "Ang Tulay ng PaMLyang Pilipino" (The Bridge of Filipino Families).

The Kaway Festival is not just a celebration of culture and tradition; it is a testament to the resilience, unity, and pride of the Tagkawayanin people. By participating in this event, M Lhuillier has not only demonstrated its commitment to supporting local communities but also its desire to preserve and promote the rich tapestry of Filipino heritage.
