M Lhuillier Brings a Perfect Spot for Learning in Nueva Vizcaya

Students of Marikit East Elementary School in Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya, now have a new space where they can read, study, and spend time learning with their classmates. The school recently welcomed the “Perfect Spot” Learning Tambayan, a project of M Lhuillier Financial Services through ML CARES Foundation. The space was designed to give students a comfortable place to catch up on schoolwork, read a book, work together, or simply make good use of their free time.

The opening also included an earthquake drill, giving the students a chance to practice what they should do in an actual emergency. Guided by their teachers, they performed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure before proceeding to the designated evacuation area. A representative from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) then talked to the students about staying calm during emergencies, following safety instructions, and keeping an emergency kit ready. It was a simple activity, but one that allowed the children to put disaster preparedness into practice.

Municipal Mayor Wilson Capiao-ao also joined the occasion and expressed his appreciation to the ML CARES Foundation and M Lhuillier for bringing the project to the school. He emphasized the value of providing children with spaces where they can learn in a safe and supportive environment. During the ceremonial turnover, the new Learning Tambayan stood as a shared effort by the school, the local government, and ML CARES to provide students with a better place to learn.

For the students of Marikit East Elementary School, the Learning Tambayan is more than an additional space on campus. It is a place to open a book, finish a school activity, exchange ideas with classmates, or discover something new. Through the “Perfect Spot” Learning Tambayan, ML CARES Foundation continues to support communities by creating spaces where children can learn, connect, and grow.
