PaMLyang Bumabangon sa Sunog. M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. has delivered essential help and support to various areas in the half year that has passed. Numerous families nationwide have been given aid in one of the most critical moments in their lives. Starting off with January 8, 2021 at Cabato Road, Tetuan Zamboanga City; 254 families and around 1,400 individuals were given donations for the immense fire incident.
The following day, January 9, ML Cares foundation through OPEC ZAMBASULTA continued to aid the temporary shelter situated at Tetuan Central School Zamboanga City to deliver basic necessities such as rice, toiletries, and assorted groceries. This activity was spearheaded by Regional Manager Jeremias R. Supilanas, Area Managers Joey Portuito, Rene Armada, and Ramon Azuelo including OPEC President Jeorge Elcamel and the rest of the OPEC officers. Apart from the donation drive, OPEC Zambasulta also tried their best to extend emotional support by hearing out the sentiments of the fire victims.
Concurrently, a fire broke out and consumed 14 houses in Barangay Obrero, Calbayog City last February 28, 2021. The fire was suppressed but the agony of the victims on how to recuperate from their undertakings took a big weight. OPEC News became their source of strength and inspiration from not just giving consumable goods but also in restoring faith in their adverse circumstances.
Another fire incident occurred thereafter on March 20,2021 at Barangay Baliwasan Seaside Zamboanga City where more or less two hundred (200) houses were consumed by fire and four hundred four (404) Families were left homeless. M Lhuillier Financial Services Inc., through ML Cares Foundation and OPEC Zambasulta-Vinta, quickly responded and gathered relief packs containing rice, canned goods, instant noodles, and hygiene kits. The items were turned over on March 24, 2021 at the temporary evacuation center, the gymnasium of Baliwasan School. Graced by the presence of Prescila Aljendro, District Field Supervisor (CSWD), OPEC President Jeorge Elcamel, Area Manager Rene, and the rest of the officers, the castling benefited one hundred forty nine (149) individuals.
M Lhuillier in cooperation with ML Cares and OPEC Sugar Island joined the relief operation drive to extend help to the Arellano Bani fire victims in Dagupan City last March 30, 2021. Apart from this, the “Operation Tulong KapaMLya“ campaign of OPEC Sugar Island became possible because of exhilarating collaborations by OPEC President Irenio Nicolas, Area Manager Leah Dela Cruz , and the LGU of Dagupan City represented by Katrina Viray. The OPEC team distributed more than 130 family packs which contained rice, grocery items, face masks, alcohol, hygiene and laundry kits dedicated to the fire victims. The rest of the employees under TARPAN Region also extended a helping hand to support the relief operations in cash.
OPEC Naliyagan in cooperation with ML Cares and M Lhuillier Financial Services Inc distributed relief packs and used clothing to the affected families of the fire incident in Barangay Tabon, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur. One hundred thirty one (131) families suffered from the rage of the fire and were evacuated to Plaza Central Elementary School. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident. The activity was realized through the efforts of the OPEC Naliyagan Team spearheaded by Regional Manager Addis C. Ares, Area Managers Ulysses Barrientos, Martin Alameda, and Anthony Calog, and the other OPEC Officers.

The NCR Rizal OPEC Summit in cooperation with ML Cares Foundation, Local Government Task Force, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, conducted another set of relief operations last January 30, 2021 to a hundred PWD victims and oppressed communities of the extensive flooding in the low-lying areas of Barangay. Mayamot, Antipolo City. Drastically hit by the tropical typhoon, NCR Rizal OPEC Summit distributed hygiene kits, sleeping sets, rice, canned goods, noodles, coffee and biscuits to the beneficiaries. Religiously observing health protocols such as social distancing and the wearing of personal protective equipment, the entire beneficence was concluded to be notably successful.
On March 3, 2021, the OPEC NEWS Team made their way to Cahumpan Elementary School for the turnover of the Covered Walk Project. It was a dream project of the school to be able to provide a bedecked catwalk for the safety and convenience of the students. In spite of the desolation during the ceremony, the four teachers who received on behalf of the entire academy expressed their sincerest gratitude to M Lhuillier. From being a surreal dream, to becoming reality, the Covered Walk Project is ultimately the best surprise Cahumpan Elementary School could provide to their pupils when schools are reopened for face to face classes.
